TYB Studio Updates…

As the season starts to wind down – still Ironman North Carolina and Ironman Florida for some athletes – we slowly start looking toward 2017 and what the 2017 season possibly holds!

As far as the TYB Studio goes…  First off, we appreciate EVERYONE who continues to support us by coming to classes, have fun, and hopefully gaining some fitness!

Below are the following updates for the TYB Studios…

TYB Upstate / Anderson

For the month of October, we will not have any formal classes / sessions,  Instead, we will be doing a $25 “membership”.  This membership will allow you to ride as much – or as little – as you want to at the Studio.  So, with your $25, you will be given a key to the studio, directions and instructions on how to use the equipment, and your chance to ride inside at the Studio WHENEVER you want.  In addition to the unlimited ride time, the $25 will also give you access to Wednesday class / coach time at either 4:00pm or the 6:00pm time slot.  Currently, the plan is for me to be at the Studio on Wednesday afternoon during the 4:00pm usual class time frame as well as the 6:00pm.  Come and ride then – and depending on the group, pick either a coached style workout or pick a course and ride as easy or as hard as you want!

Also, for the month of October – BRING A FRIEND FOR FREE!!  Or… if you have not had the chance to ride in the Studio, come and check out a ride for FREE!

It is Finally Here!

The BIG day is FINALLY here!  After signing up almost a year ago, the day has finally come!

With their minds on the prize for months and months, lots of quality training and time invested, the LONG COURSE RACE DAY IS HERE!

TYB Athletes will be throughout the Southeast and the midwest this weekend!

Going SUPER LONG at Ironman Chattanooga are TYB Athletes Kristina, Gary, Keith, Chad, Peter, Britton and Coach Mark.  Going LONG at the Augusta 70.3 are TYB Athletes Barry, Lynn, Rob, Jason, Tricia, Al, Tamy and Coach David.  Also, keeping the Long Course going is TYB Athlete Bernie racing in Oklahoma at the ITU Long Course World Championships!

You have made it through the hard part – the training, the time invested, the heat – and now is the fun part – RACE DAY!  Enjoy the day, trust your training, and RACE YOUR RACE!

Adding more Fuel to the Fire!

Triathlon is made up of three sports – the Swim, the Bike, and the Run.  Over the course the time – and with quality and defined workouts – athletes will get fitter and faster and achieve their goals.

The higher the quality of workouts – and mixed with the proper amount of rest and recovery – the more efficient, fitter, and faster the athlete will become.

For consistent workouts, it becomes about more than only the aspects of swim, bike, and run – it also becomes about proper nutrition.  Not only the everyday nutrition, but also nutrition DURING the workouts.

Because of this, TYB currently stocks a few nutritional items – Carb Boom, E-Gel, Picky Bars, and now…  Accel Gel and 2nd Surgeboth from Pacific Health Labs

What makes Accel Gel unique is that it is the only gel that contains the patented 4:1 ratio of carbs and protein and it uses a combination of three carbohydrates to maximize energy transport and uptake into muscle cells. This novel combination guaranties instant energy when needed.

With 2nd Surge, it is the first all natural energy gel specifically formulated to delay the onset of both muscle and brain fatigue. The proprietary formula of rapidly acting carbohydrates, proteins, caffeine and antioxidants are proven to:

• Increase the delivery of cortical nutrients to brain and muscle cells

• Maintain metabolic energy needs

• Inhibit the release of fatigue signals in the brain
• Reduce muscle damage, an important trigger for release of fatigue signals
• Gives you added energy when you need it most

Now in stock at the TYB Studio or shipping throughout the United States, get your Accel Gel  ($25.99 for a case of 24 gels or $1.50 per gel) and 2nd Surge ($12.99 for a case of 8 gels or $2 per gel).  Current TYB Athletes receive a 15% discount.

Make your T2 Count!

Transitions are often thought of as the 4th discipline of triathlon.  The shorter the race, the more the transitions count!

TYB is proud to announce that we are now an official deal of Xtenex Laces.  XTENEX® Accu-Fit Adjustable Compression Laces feature enlarged (auto-blocking) knots that can be manually reduced in diameter size by stretching the lace apart where the reduction is needed, either for lacing or adjustment, release to set your compression preference. Knots create an adjustable compression zone between each set of eyelets to provide a tuned ergonomic fit.

Utilizing Xtenex Laces in your running shoes will allow you to save valuable seconds in transition while also allowing for proper fit and feel of the lacing system without any unwanted pressure points that may take place with other quick lace systems.

Xtenex laces system can be purchased at the TYB Studio or purchased online by clicking HERE for $14.95.

The Racing Continues!

As we roll into the first weekend of September, the racing continues throughout the Southeast and throughout the world!

First off, TYB Athletes Sandy O’Keefe and Jennifer Long travel to Cozumel next week for the ITU Age Group World Championships.  After qualifying last year, Sandy and Jennifer are looking forward to representing USA at the ITU World Championships!

In North Carolina, TYB Athletes Tina Rich and Randy Parks race the always fun White Lake Half Ironman.  Tina and Randy both are looking for some fun in White Lake.  Tina will use this race as a “recovery style” weekend as she continues to prepare for Ironman North Carolina while Randy, coming off of Lake Logan Half 5 weeks ago, continues to use the long distance races to experiment and figure out his perfect race scenario.

Also, across the country, TYB Athlete Jimmy Bagnola races in Santa Cruz at Ironman 70.3 Santa Cruz.  Ready to roll, Jimmy looks for a solid day of swim, bike and run!

In South Carolina, TYB Athlete Frankie Valle heads down to the coast and races the new South Carolina Triathlon Series TriFecta Sprint Triathlon.  Keeping it short and sweet and fast, Frankie continues to prepare for the end of the season Ironman Florida.
